ABOUT ME

DP HEADSHOT.jpg

My journey started years ago in a Mississippi newsroom.  Since then, I've worked in newsrooms in Georgia and Tennessee.  I live, eat, and breathe tv news.  I am always ecstatic to learn and try new things.

In my current role as a producer, I produce shows on Good Morning Memphis during the week and on weekends.  In my time as a producer on Good Morning Memphis Saturday & Sunday edition, the primary anchor taught me how to investigate the facts instead of just writing copy.  Together, we successfully grew the weekend numbers, eventually pushing us to number one ratings in Nielsen numbers and for viewers age 25-54.

During the week I have the privilege of working with a team of amazing producers to crank our five hours of news from 4:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.  I occasionally fill in to produce the Midday show at 11:00 A.M.  Working weekends has given me the opportunity to learn how to multi-task, listen to scanners overnight, and trouble-shoot with minimum supervision.

During my time in Memphis, I've learned how to produce for all of the shows in our shop.  Within a years time I produced the 5 P.M., 6 P.M., and 10 P.M. shows.  I met with the morning executive producer often to review the weekend shows and track my progress.  It has been a journey full of highs, lows, and challenges.  But I continue to work alongside our team of producers to come up with fresh and innovative ways to engage our audience.
